Please note that we will need to know in advance if you have any special dietary needs. You must provide a written note of what you cannot eat, &/or any substitutions that our cook needs to make (eg soya milk instead of whole milk), at least 4 weeks before the retreat. Yoga Yoga is a science of living, Dawn's aim with your practice is to help you to hear & feel internal rhythms & fluctuations. The practice of pranayama - the harnessing of pranic energy or, put simply, breath, our life force - through proper breathing to bring a sense of calm & stillness to your practice & your life. The building of strength, stamina & flexibility which releases muscular & energetic armouring through asana practice combined with mindfulness meditation on & off your mat, will introduce you to a way of being which is truly your natural state. The practice will be pitched at the student with some knowledge of yoga - if you're not sure about your level of experience, or are a keen beginner, please feel free to talk to Dawn. As with all classes, alternatives will be offered & students can work at their own level & pace. The practice will include pranayama, static & flowing asana, inversions & relaxation. Please bring your own mat, block, strap & blanket. Meditation Meditations are based on the Buddhist tradition. There will be one daily led meditation, & a quiet space will be provided to do your own personal practice each afternoon. But on retreat, you can use this opportunity to bring meditation into all that you do. Walking, talking, washing, eating, reading, yoga & pranayama. You will see that meditation is a state which we can practise all the time, & which requires no special equipment or environment. Indeed, meditation can happen anywhere - on the tube, at the office, in a meeting at work. When you understand this, your life takes on new colour, texture & beauty. Healing Included within the price of your retreat, Jo will be offering you a 30-minute treatment. Your chosen therapy will support the cleansing process that yoga & meditation has started. Choose from: - Reflexology - Face & Head Massage using Thai & Indian Lymph Drainage Techniques - Back, Shoulder & Neck Massage - Reiki Price The cost of the retreat is £250, including accommodation, food, yoga, meditation and your treatment.
